On tonight’s episode of Scandal, “Snake in the Garden,” Hollis Doyle’s demons catch up with him when his daughter is kidnapped. But the gladiators are on the case, and because Doyle is human, they’ll find her soon enough.

Unfortunately, we haven’t seen the last of Hollis Doyle. Even more unfortunately, the circumstances we meet him under again tonight involve the kidnapping of his daughter, who looks really, really scared. Poor Doyle, the only people that can help him are the people that despise him the most! But at least Olivia Pope commits to everyone she represents, regardless of her feelings toward them. And at the end of the day, her gladiators always fall in line, even if they need a little nudge.
While Olivia is busy dealing with Doyle’s drama, something tells me Captain Jake Ballard is in his own mess. Yes, he’s winning in Olivia’s world, but how long can he really keep the president in the dark about his extracurricular activities? Chances are someone else will find out tonight, and if he’s going to be with one of the most-watched women of power plays in DC, he’s going to have to come clean. But here’s the hiccup: coming clean means being on the Fitz’s bad side, which we all know can get pretty scary. But it could also mean losing Olivia, who’s smarter than we think when it comes to people overall. Whether it was an order or not, choosing to keep surveillance on her for the president is a huge no-no.
